ERIN’S STORY

Hi, I’m Erin.

Teaching was always in the cards for me. Running my own online business? Not so much.

Having your own teacher business is like one big game of expectation vs. reality. Let me paint you a picture.

Erin and Ashley of School of Sellers

P.S. That’s my partner in crime, Ashley! I’m the founder of School of Sellers, and Ashley is my right hand, the other half of my brain, you name it!

THE EXPECTATION

Scene: any day of my childhood

  • Students of the stuffed animal and sibling variety lined up in a row.
  • My 1st grade penmanship scrawled across the playroom chalkboard.
  • Star stickers on deck for the “good” students and principal’s office passes ready for the “bad” ones.
THE REALITY

Scene: any day of my late 20s

  • After a long day teaching, drive to Starbucks to work for 2 hours on my latest TPT product.
  • Head home to a toddler and a (also tired, also teacher) husband. Juggle bath, dinner and bedtime.
  • Settle in on the couch to tackle a blog post, schedule Facebook posts and basically all the things.
  • Slip into bed at an ungodly hour while my mind races with the 928 things I didn’t get done.
  • Repeat several hours later.

50% of the time, this life felt exciting and energizing. The other 50%? Draining and impossible.

It was okay at the beginning, but once the charm wore off, the burnout set in. I knew I had to make a change.

If this sounds eerily familiar, it’s because you aren’t alone.

Most seller stories begin with Ms. Frizzle-esque aspirations. So it’s no surprise that when we end up in a (virtual) business suit instead of a magic bus, we get busy, overloaded and stressed to the max.

IT’S OKAY, THOUGH. THERE’S A HAPPY ENDING.

MY REALITY TODAY

Scene: any day of the week.

If this sounds too good to be true, I can promise you it’s not.

This can be your story.

  • Wake up and leisurely sip my coffee, knowing my to-do list is filled with intentional, reasonable tasks.
  • Get cozy in bed or all business-like at my desk (whatever floats my boat that day!).
  • Get whisked away to my happy place: creating products, drafting ad copy, or brainstorming with Ashley. Whatever’s on the agenda, I know it’s important and doable.
  • Close up shop with a clear mind and a huge sense of accomplishment.
  • Read books, play games and eat dinner with my family, without 1,348 other things running through my mind.
  • Fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow (who am I?!), looking forward to another productive day.
WHY SCHOOL OF SELLERS

I believe in solving problems and sharing solutions.

Through School of Sellers, I’ve been able to share my systems, tips, mistakes and experiences with thousands of sellers just like you. These ways of running my business have saved me so much time and energy, and made me happier than I ever thought possible. (My family, my mental health and my bank account have thanked me for it, too.)

I can’t wait to help you write your seller story. It’s never too late to start it, revise it or write your ending.

Erin
FOUNDER

Erin

Erin has been a teacher seller since 2013. She runs her TPT business and School of Sellers full time, while doing life with her partner-in-crime husband and their two kids, and volunteering at her kids’ schools.

While Erin loves all things business, she also has a mean knack for DoorDashing, is always down for arts and crafts, horror movies, & a house project.

Late in life to be diagnosed with ADHD, Erin is a 24/7 busy-brained creative who thrives off systems and sharing them with others.

Ashley
RIGHT HAND & OTHER HALF OF THE BRAIN

Ashley

Ashley has been a seller on TPT since 2012. She works on TPT part time while raising her two children and volunteering at their schools. Over the years, a true passion for business organization has formed: she loves finding systems that work and learning about new tools that help.

Apart from organizing, she loves anything Harry Potter, Disney and traveling.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ERIN & ASHLEY

Twins in business, and a little bit beyond.

2019
We met in 2019,

and showed up driving matching minivans. Coincidence? We think not.

SINCE THEN
Spookily parallel.

From there, our lives have stayed eerily in sync. It’s honestly a little weird.

NOW
Matching tattoos in Vegas.

We’ve officially graduated from matching minivans to matching ink. Turns out what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.

ALSO NOW
Twin porch geese.

Except ours live indoors. Meet the office geese, our unofficial mascots.
